Illuminating blind spots and hidden strengths

Research shows that leaders can improve their performance simply by becoming more self-aware. In fact, it is critical for leaders to recognize their own strengths and weaknesses in order to reach their potential and avoid derailment. Findings suggest that blind spots are most common in areas related to adaptability, creativity, and assessing talent.

Vicki Swisher is an Intellectual Property Development Consultant of Korn/Ferry Leadership and Talent Consulting. Vicki has a broad range of experience in human resource development, with much of her work centered in the areas of change leadership, performance management and improvement consulting, instructional design, and training. Prior to joining Korn/Ferry, she was in an organizational effectiveness leadership role with Hartford Life.

 

While at Hartford Life, Vicki rolled out a comprehensive change management methodology and provided internal consulting to client partners in the areas of performance management and leadership development. Previously, Vicki spent 15 years in the hospitality sector with Marriott International and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. During her time in the hotel industry, she held leadership positions in group sales and catering, worked in public relations, and managed a sales training function.

King Yii (Lulu) Tang

Intellectual Property Research Assistant Korn/Ferry Leadership and Talent

King Yii (Lulu) Tang joined Korn/Ferry International in 2007 as a research assistant.

Her interests lie in leadership development, teams, personnel selection, 360-degree feedback, and culture. She works closely with the research team on all aspects of research projects and project development. She has a master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from St. Cloud State University, MN.

Kenneth P. De Meuse

Associate Vice President of Research Lominger International

Kenneth P. De Meuse is the Associate Vice President of Research at Lominger. Prior to coming to work at Lominger, Ken was on the faculties at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, Iowa State University, and the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

 

Ken has published numerous articles on employee attitudes and organizational behavior in several leading professional journals. His most recent book entitled, 50 More Things You Need to Know: The Science Behind Best People Practices for Managers & HR Professionals, was published in 2007. He has appeared on ABC News, CNN, AP Radio, and National Public Radio and has been featured in national publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Fortune, U.S. News & World Report, The New York Times, and USA Today for his expertise on the impact organizational change has on the workforce.
